In April 2017, the DFL announced that all Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga matches would be played with DERBYSTAR balls starting from the 2018/19 season.

This milestone marks our success as the official ball of one of the world's best football leagues, with the highest spectator numbers in Europe, following a history of our footballs being used by Bundesliga clubs from the 1970s until 2010.

Our successful cooperation has already been extended by four more years: until at least the summer of 2026, we will be providing the Official Match Ball for the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga as well as the Supercup.
